I have been in and out of the complex many times, I also have rented many units there as well, I'm sure if you ask every person in the complex how they feel about living there some will be positive and some negative I would not have rented to my own mother if I thought the complex was that bad.
I have lived at Arbor Hills for many years and was surprised to see all of the negative comments, especially about mice. I have never had a mouse problem or insect problem of any kind. The apartments are spacious with lots of closet space, the grounds are kept up nicely as is the pool area and the recently renovated fitness room. I've always found management responsive, too. They have upgraded the buildings and windows and there are lots of nice updated/renovated apartments. All in all, it's a good place to live with excellent security, lovely surroundings and excellent access to the airport and NYC.
I really don't understand all the negative reviews. I think it is a safe nice place to live with a pretty good location. Close to Clifton commons, parks in Nutley, all major highways and NYC commute. I have never seen a mouse or bug in my apartment. Its always the unhappy that complain and the happy that don't care to go online. The building is older, some noise can be heard between units, and the security guard doesn't really check cars entering the community. But overall I've been very happy living here for a reasonable price and would recommend.
