Top Architecture Designs For New Homes

(Published on - 7/23/2019 6:53:31 PM)

We’re well into 2019, but the architecture world is evolving now more than ever. From eco-friendly living to accessibility and even minimalism, the architects of today are changing the game. Here’s a closer look at the top architecture design trends right now.

Local and sustainable materials

The need for sustainability is increasing more and more, even to the point of influencing home design. Now more than ever, architects are sourcing recycled, sustainable, and even local materials when designing new homes and spaces. But just because architects are using more environmentally-friendly materials doesn’t mean they are sacrificing quality craftsmanship and beauty. Even homes made from locally sourced and sustainable materials can be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And, arguably, a locally and a sustainable designed home is even more appealing than anything else.

Realty Executives Integrity Broker Associate Combines Passion & Care

(Published on - 7/18/2019 8:14:34 PM)

Realty Executives Integrity is proud of Broker Associate, John Arneson, who continuously has given back to the community through a personal cause at the 2nd annual Roses for Recovery fundraising event, hosted by the SALS Recovery House and The Wisconsin Club. Raising over $23,000, Roses for Recovery is an annual event where guests dress to impress and gather on the day of the iconic Kentucky Derby. The event includes local food, drinks, raffles, auctions, friendly competitions and more. This year’s event was another success with over 100 attending.

Created by those in recovery, for those in recovery, SALS offers help to people who have recently been through drug and alcohol addiction and are looking for a supportive home. Seeing a gap in the system, Arneson, with the support and help of many, opened the first SALS Recovery House opened in 2004, offering the first sustainable long-term housing option in the area. Providing a safe environment and supportive peers to help guide others through the recovery process, SALS has since opened seven more sober houses and a treatment center.

Arneson, a fourth generation REALTOR®, has been with Realty Executives Integrity for 13 years after selling his previous family brokerage. Looking for more independence and freedom, the Arnesons came to Realty Executives to be able to focus on their agent’s individual success after years of having to run every part of a brokerage on their own. A recovering addict himself, Arneson is passionate about helping others through the recovery process as he celebrates 15 years sobriety.

“My career in real estate has allowed me to put my passion for helping others and my career together,” Arneson said. “With the support of my co-workers and my community, I’m able to serve a higher purpose and bring something back into the community that has given me so much.”

With ongoing support, Arneson and his partner’s next phase for SALS is broadening its reach beyond addiction to help first responders and veterans with PTSD. Next, the non-profit hopes to find a way to provide support for abused and battered women.

“There is no limit to the impact SALS could have on this community,” Arneson explained. “As long as I have the support of my real estate family and neighbors, I will continue to provide a safe place to those in need.”

Best Time to Move With Kids

(Published on - 7/16/2019 7:50:45 PM)

The right time to move can be different for everyone. Depending on your job opportunities, the housing market, your timeline for moving, or your kids’ ages, there are plenty of factors to consider when deciding when is the right time to move with your family. But is there a perfect time to move with kids, and how should you approach the move? Here’s what to keep in mind when moving with kids.

Make the move during the summer

If your kids are old enough to be in school, it’s typically easiest to move during the summer. This way, your kids won’t have to grapple with leaving their classrooms and friends and trying to adjust to starting school in the middle of the year. The summer marks the season of a fresh start, so making a move to a new place (or even just across town to a new school or district) will be much easier during the summer months.

Moving can be easier while your kids are young

Generally, the younger your kids are, the easier it is to adjust to the idea of moving. Kids in elementary school are more likely to be open to moving than kids in middle or high school. As children get older and more involved in school, they are more likely to make strong emotional bonds with their friends, be well-adjusted to their current school or classes, and even become involved in romantic relationships. Even though older kids and teenagers tend to understand moving better than young kids, young kids are less likely to put up a fight about the move.

(Published on - 7/11/2019 4:40:46 PM)

Congrats on the new home! You’re probably excited, exhausted, and in need of somewhere to start – sounds like a job for our new home checklist.

Let’s cut to the chase, the new home journey can be overwhelming. You’re excited to start your new life, but getting there can feel like a lifetime of preparation. From cable to comforters to crock-pots, there’s a lot that goes into moving into a new home. If you don’t stay organized, move-in day can be a total bust. It’s common to worry, but lucky for you, this ultimate new home checklist will put your mind at ease and simplify the moving process.

1. Transfer utilities

Before you can move into your new home and get comfortable, you need to set up your physical utilities: water, gas, and electricity. Depending on where your new home is located, you may or may not have some say in which company you work with. Although physical utilities companies are usually timely about activation, the sooner you notify them of your move-in date, the better. This is especially true if they’re in the midst of moving season when they’re working with a ton of accounts.
