Honoring Those Who Have Served!

Veterans Day orginated as "Armistice Day" on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War 1.

Now on November 11 the nation will honor it's Veterans, living and dead- giving thanks for their service to the country wheather during war or in peace time.

LOCAL VETERANS DAY EVENTS:

Nov. 9-11

Veterans appreciation festival

When: 5-9 p.m. Friday; 1-3 and 5-9 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

Where: Beach Front Grille, 2444 South Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach

Cost: Free food for military veterans

Details: There will be live music performances, including Taps at 7 p.m. Friday. Veteran's organizations are invited to have a table/booth at the event at no cost. Those interested in participating are asked to call the restaurant at 693-4839.

Monday, Nov. 12

Palm Coast Veterans Day ceremony

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Heroes Memorial Park, 2860 Palm Coast Parkway NW

Cost: Free

Details: Speakers for the event will be State Rep. Paul Renner, Florida House of Representatives District 24; Edward Beier of American Legion Post 115; and Palm Coast Mayor Melissa Holland. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held at nearby Fire Station 21, 9 Corporate Drive.

Monday, November 12, 2018, 1:00 p.m.,

Veterans Park, Flagler Beach, Florida.

Refreshments following the ceremony in Flagler Beach City Hall Commission Room, 105 S. 2nd Street, Flagler Beach, Florida.
