Spring Cleaning

The days are getting longer and warmer and before we know it, summer will be here! Now is the time to tackle some outdoor maintenance projects before it gets too hot. Spring weekends are the perfect time to do some extra work around the house.
**Wash windows - Clean windows inside and out for a lighter and brighter home.
**Clean gutters and down spouts - Clogged gutters and downspouts can cause the wood trim to rot. Check that downspouts are working properly and diverting water away from your foundation.
**Clean your wood-burning fireplace- Remove any leftover charred wood and ashes and gently clean the inside of the fireplace. Leave the chimney cleaning to a professional.
**Check your sprinkler and irrigation system - Check that sprinkler heads are undamaged. Ensure that sprinkler heads are spraying intended areas to avoid wasting water.
**Check screen doors and windows - This is the time of year to open windows and doors! In order to avoid any critters from entering your home, be sure that screens are free of tears/holes.
**Reseal exterior woodwork - Exterior woodwork will last longer if it is resealed every year or two. Check for damage and make any needed repairs.
**Schedule AC service - Have a licensed professional service the unit prior to usage and be sure to change the filters.
