Will Cupp - Biography

Will Cupp is a Realtor and real estate broker with Realty Executives Associates serving Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevier County and communities throughout East Tennessee.

I spent a good part of my life running like a bull, only to eventually discover I was standing in a china shop.

I broke a few things.

Fell down more than a few times.

And somewhere along the way, by the grace of God, I learned that getting back up can teach a man considerably more than never falling in the first place.

So, if you're looking for the normal Realtor bio, I should probably apologize now.

This isn't one.

There are Realtors who have sold more homes than I have. There are people smarter than me, better educated than me, and probably a few who could tell this story with better grammar.

I'm okay with that.

My mother taught me to believe in myself, but never to believe everything was about me or that there wasn't someone better out there I could learn from.

My dad's version was a little less poetic.

He used to say, “There's a paddle for every hind end out there.”

Turns out Mom and Dad were both right.

And believe me, over the years I've become pretty well versed in both philosophies. ??

More than 30 years in real estate has given me a lot of experience. I've been a Realtor, broker, leader, trainer, auctioneer, problem solver, negotiator and entrepreneur. I've sold a lot of property and helped guide a lot of transactions.

But those aren't the things that made me who I am.

Life did that.

Being a husband did that.

Being a father did that.

Making mistakes did that.

Having to tell someone I was wrong did that.

Winning some battles and losing others did that.

Watching good markets become bad markets and bad markets become good ones again did that.

And most importantly, God did that.

He has a remarkable way of taking the things we thought might break us and using them to teach us how to help somebody else through theirs.

Maybe that's the real reason I've been doing this for more than three decades.

I used to think experience meant having the answers.

Today I think experience means knowing enough to listen before giving one.

Because behind every piece of real estate is something considerably more valuable than the dirt, bricks and lumber.

There's a person.

There's a husband wondering if he's making the right decision for his family.

A widow staring at a house filled with forty years of memories.

Parents watching their children move away.

A young couple scared to death about buying their first home.

A seller who needs someone to tell them the truth, even when the truth isn't what they hoped to hear.

Someone starting over.

Someone coming home.

Someone who simply doesn't know what to do next.

And maybe, after all my victories, mistakes, hard lessons, blessings and occasional trips through the china shop, I can help.

Maybe I can sell the property.

Maybe I can auction it.

Maybe I can negotiate the problem.

Maybe I know the right person somewhere across the country who can do something better than I can.

Maybe all you need is thirty minutes, a cup of coffee and someone who's been around long enough to say, “I've seen something like this before.”

Whatever it is, I would be grateful that you trusted me enough to ask.

Because at this point in my life, I understand something I didn't understand when I was younger.

This isn't my bio.

It's not really about the homes I've sold, the positions I've held, the years I've worked or what I've accomplished.

It's about you.

Your home.

Your family.

Your problem.

Your opportunity.

Your next chapter.

Your story.

And if God allows me to play even a small part in helping you write the next page well, I'll consider that a pretty good day's work.

I am a Realtor.

I am an auctioneer.

I am a husband and a father.

I am a man who has succeeded, failed, laughed, hurt, learned, gotten back up and discovered that God's grace was there through every bit of it.

I'm still learning.

I'm still serving.

And thankfully, I'm a little more careful around the china now.

My name is Will Cupp.

I'd be honored to help.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.”
1 Peter 4:10

Areas Served

Somewhere tonight, someone is packing a box. Someone else is putting a FOR SALE sign in a yard. A family is heading home to East Tennessee, while another is beginning a new chapter a thousand miles away.

And somewhere in the middle of all that change, somebody is asking the same question:

Who do we know there?

Now you do.

After more than 30 years in real estate, my map has gotten pretty big.

East Tennessee is home. I live and work in Sevier County, serving Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the surrounding Smoky Mountain communities. My experience selling property reaches throughout East Tennessee, including Sevier, Knox, Blount, Jefferson, Cocke, Hamblen, Grainger, Anderson and beyond.

From Knoxville to Morristown, and from the Smokies to Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, I help with mountain homes, family homes, farms, land, investments, cabins and those properties that sometimes require a little imagination to sell.

But there is another map I have spent more than three decades building.

It doesn’t hang on a wall.

It is made of people.

Agents, brokers and real estate professionals across the country whom I have met, worked with, learned from and come to trust. Good people. Experienced people. People with the kind of values, work ethic and heart for serving others that matter to me.

So when someone tells me, “Will, I need an agent in Florida,” or Texas, North Carolina, California or somewhere I’ve never personally sold a house, I don’t simply point them toward the internet and wish them luck.

I go to work.

Because finding an agent is easy.

Finding the right one isn’t.

If your son is moving across the country, your parents need to sell the home they’ve loved for forty years, you’ve inherited property in another state, or life is simply carrying you somewhere new, call me.

Maybe I can personally sell it.

Maybe one of the trusted professionals in my network is the better fit.

Either way, you don’t have to figure out where to start.

I Believe I Can Help You.

One call. One relationship. East Tennessee or across America.

I’ll help you find your way home.

And after more than 30 years of watching doors close, doors open and lives change on both sides of them, I still believe none of those meetings are accidental.

God has a wonderful way of putting the right people in our path at just the right time.

Maybe that’s why you’re reading this one.

Give me a call.

God Bless!!

Specialties

My specialty? The property, person or problem that doesn't fit neatly into a box.

After more than 30 years in real estate, I've learned that the easy transactions usually don't need much explaining. It's the others that reveal the value of experience.

The property nobody quite knows how to market.

The seller who has three different people telling them three different things.

The family trying to decide whether to sell, auction, renovate, keep or simply walk away.

The unusual home that shouldn't be marketed like every other house on the street.

The land, cabin, investment property, estate or inherited home where the story behind the property matters almost as much as the property itself.

That's where I tend to shine.

I don't begin with “How do we list this?”

I begin with “What are we really trying to accomplish?”

Sometimes the answer is a traditional sale. Sometimes it's an auction. Sometimes better marketing changes everything. Sometimes the smartest advice I can give someone is not what they expected to hear.

My job isn't to make every property fit my way of doing business.

It's to find the best way of doing business for that property and that person.

I especially enjoy unique and hard to define properties, land and acreage, mountain and rural homes, cabins, investment properties, estates and inherited property, relocation, real estate auctions, creative property marketing, valuation, negotiation and complicated transactions that benefit from experience rather than a script.

Much of my work is centered in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and throughout Sevier County, while also serving clients across East Tennessee.

And after years of brokerage leadership, training and helping other real estate professionals work through difficult situations, I've developed another specialty that won't appear on many property searches:

When somebody doesn't know what to do next, I'm pretty good at helping them find the next right step.

I don't need every deal.

I don't need every answer to be mine.

I just want the people God puts in my path to be better off because they called.

If it's simple, I can help.

If it isn't, that's probably an even better reason to call me.

God Bless
