Regardless of club membership, all residents enjoy access to the community park, featuring a basketball court, barbecue area, picnic tables, and restrooms—all within the security of guard-gated access. This comes at an exceptionally reasonable monthly HOA fee of under $200.

Ancala Golf Club Membership
As of November 2024, Ancala Golf Club is one of only three Scottsdale golf clubs with immediate membership availability, according to the membership director. Non-equity memberships average $38,000 upfront, with a monthly fee of $1,250—and there are "never assessments" for facility improvements. Membership includes access to one of Scottsdale's premier golf courses (a perspective I hold as a past member).

The fitness center recently underwent a $1.5 million renovation and is conveniently located near the heated junior Olympic-sized pool. During my recent visit, I found the atmosphere to be vibrant and active without feeling overcrowded, with popular fitness classes held in a dedicated yoga and athletic room. Additionally, there are two lighted tennis courts (not yet converted to pickleball, as the Scottsdale Association for Pickleball is just a mile away).

Schools
Ancala is served by excellent schools, including Desert Mountain High School, Mountainside Middle School, and nearby Anasazi Elementary. Many families move to the area for the highly acclaimed BASIS Scottsdale Charter School, offering top-tier education for elementary through high school students.

Historical Note
The name "Ancala" originates from a rock and flower garden in Scotland. In 1937, Frank Lloyd Wright purchased this land, and his renowned Taliesin West is situated just outside Ancala's western gates.
