Tempe Town Lake is one of the first landmarks you will see as you descend into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.  Walk, jog or bike along it's shores, or rent a kayak or stand up paddleboard. Annual events feature fireworks celebrating New Year's Eve, the Fourth of July, the Tempe Ironman Competition, the New Times Marathon and the Pat Tillman Run, among others. The Mill Avenue bridge serves as ground zero of Arizona State University's main campus.  Tempe fireworks

Tempe is 40 square miles, bordered by Old Town Scottsdale, the 202 freeway, Phoenix and Mesa and the East Valley. Just 15 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport, it is home to Arizona State University, the University of Phoenix, the Maricopa County Community College District, the nation’s largest, and many more. Tempe claims that 42% of all residents over age 25 hold a Bachelor’s Degree, and 18 percent have a doctorate. Tempe is the only city in Arizona with border to border light rail. The rail system connects to regional buses, the airport, and downtown Phoenix, including downtown's ASU/UofA/NAU campus, T-Gen, and Championship Diamondbacks Baseball and Phoenix Suns Basketball Parks. The population of Tempe is approximately 182,000.

Adjacent Phoenix & Scottsdale

Tempe is adjacent the Phoenix city park system, with 182 parks containing nearly 42,000 acres, making it the largest municipal park system in the nation. The nearby Desert Botanical Garden is one of the few public gardens dedicated to desert plans and displaying salight rail Tempemples from all over the world. Next door is the Phoenix Zoo, the nation's largest privately owned non-profit zoo.

 

Tempe is also adjacent to Old Town Scottsdale at the southern most border of Scottsdale Arizona. Old Town is known for its vibrant night life, shopping and consistantly top rated restaurants, museums and art galleries.

The Phoenix metro Valley has one of the lowest costs of livings and as of January 2019 was named 5th lowest in property taxes. Business disrution is low due to rare natural disasters. And Tempe is centrally located, just a 2 hour drive from snow skiing in Flagstaff, 4 hours to the west coast, and 6 hours from Los Angeles or San Diego. A 45 minute drive takes you to a string of lakes from the Colorado river providing great access to water sports, hiking, camping and fishing. Tempe is considered in the Phoenix Metro East Valley, adjacent to the Tonto National Forrest.
