1217 BARTON Road Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's off to home we go....who else can say that they live in the former home of an American country music singer, guitarist, songwriter and author.....from my understanding although it is not in print...he was quite the character. Having had this home built in the mountains for he and his bride at the time, he even had the fireplace designed to hold his gold album award. Here is hat I found out about this... Elton Britt was the first country artist to receive a gold disc award for his 1942 hit song, "There's a Star-Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere". The patriotic ballad sold over a million copies by 1944 and was the first gold record in country music history. I realize that we are not selling Elton Britt's music but we are selling the home of some nostalgic memories and ornery shenanigans. This beautiful property has both well preserved woodland and lovely fields.
