My 5x-great grandparents were issued the first marriage license once Fort Miami became St. Joseph City so my roots in Southwest Michigan run deep. For years, I managed my parents donut shop, Dale's Donut Factory. With extended family businesses stretching from farming to owning a marina, there's nowhere I'd rather live. This wide range of influences gives me a great appreciation for the openness of fields to the expanse of Lake Michigan or the community found in neighborhoods. There's few places in the world where all of these options are within such close proximity.
