After receiving my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto I went to Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, to get my Bachelor of Education. I loved the country side with all the lakes and rivers and the lifestyle it offered. I enjoyed the fishing and the smaller campus. While there I worked at the Parking Authority and became a member of the Blue Line Club for the North Bay Trappers AA hockey team. I also organized a running club, the 100 Kilometre (Mile) Club, in which the members charted their progress to running 100 KM. Many of us did more.
After graduation I became a teacher at the Espanola Board of Education, just west of Sudbury and north of the fabulous Manitoulin Island. During those enjoyable years, I continued to develop my love of the outdoors and some of the vehicles that allowed you to experience it and travel in it! I curled for several years while there to help enjoy the winter life. I also enjoyed snow shoeing, skiing, hunting, camping, photography and I got my motorcycle licence. I enjoyed teaching in the towns of Espanola and Massey. I have experienced teaching in the intermediate, junior and primary levels, and am fortunate enough to have enjoyed them all.
I wanted to be in the Simcoe County area when my son began grade one, so I transferred boards. I knew then that I was going to begin a career in real estate. So after a couple of years teaching in Simcoe County, I took a year off and took all of my real estate courses. In 1991 I began my real estate career and am still full time and loving it. I became a broker, then about 2 years ago I obtained my SRES designation (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) and am (all too slowly) working on developing that while maintaining my practice in rural, waterfront, commercial, farming properties. It is enjoyable when I get to use my Argos and ATVs to show and evaluate acreages, recreational and farm properties. But I still love the residential (condos, cottages and houses) and commercial properties as well. Every season is new and different which helps keep it an interesting life in real estate.
From the shores of Georgian Bay in Tiny Township including Penetanguishene, Midland, Wyevale, Waverley and Vasey; and Victoria Harbour, Waubaushene and area in Tay Township; and, of course, Springwater Township (Orr Lake, Hillsdale, Elmvale, Phelpston, Crossland and area); Barrie (where I first started in real estate) to south of Barrie to the Alliston / Tottenham area; from Colwater / Severn Township to the east and Collingwood, Wasaga Beach (where I live) / Clearview area to the west... I have listed and sold all types of real estate in these wonderfully diverse sections of Simcoe County. Let my experience work for you! Referrals are cherished!
