Arcadia is Currently the Priciest Place to live in Arizona

South side of Camelback Mountain

The Arcadia neighborhood straddles Phoenix 85018 and Scottsdale 85251. This “front-porch” community is family friendly and the very best place to take the kids trick-or-treating (parents are out too, typically with wine glasses). Wide streets and mature shade trees beckon runners, dog-walkers, bicycles and children. The boundaries are 44th Street to 68th Street and Indian School to Camelback Roads. There are also homes on the north side of Camelback Rd which are in the foothills and hillside of Camelback Mountain between the Royal Palms and Phoencian Resorts (Photo shown is one of Denise's listings March 2018 backing up to the South Side Of Camelback Mountain). Arcadia was originally citrus groves and there is still irrigation to many of the properties.  It is only 15 minutes or so from Sky Harbor Airport and minutes from Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale. It also borders Paradise Valley to the North, and Arizona Country Club to the South. As one of the Valley’s more established communities, it is a popular neighborhood for those who grew up to return and raise their own children. The public schools are some of the Scottsdale “3-Cs” typically with long wait lists due to Open Enrollment policies. When I owned a home there, the neighborhood was named “safest place to go for a run," due to the large number of physicians who lived there. The price per square foot is one of the highest in the State, as this neighborhood has actually surpassed the all time highs of 2005.  Homes range from  homes built in the 1950s averaging around 2,500 square feet  and 1/4 acre priced at over $1million for move-in ready, up to 17,000 square foot new or more recently built or remodeled homes on several acres for several million dollars. Celebrities who have lived here include Alice Cooper and Glen Campbell. Exeter is the premier street. The neighborhood has become so popular that a new term "Arcadia-lite" is commonly used now to describe the infills and remodels in surrounding neighborhoods.
