Clean it, Paint it, Fix it

CLEAN IT -
- Clean windows to create a sparkling clean image
- Floors and stairways should be clean and free of debris
- A nicely groomed yard is a sign of a well maintained home
- Kitchen and bath fixtures should be clean and ready for inspection
- Appliances should be clean and ready for inspection
- Pet cages and litter pans should be clean and odor free
- Closets should be organized
- Areas under sinks and vanities may be viewed, cleanliness is a plus!
PAINT IT -
- Inside – fresh neutral colored paint is preferred over old, dirty and faded paint. And it smells fresh and clean too!
- Outside – common colors are preferred. If there are no other homes in town the same color as yours, there’s probably a reason for it
- Bright paint on lot stakes makes them visible
FIX IT -
- All ceiling lights should be functioning. You’ve got to see it to want it!
- Broken windows, leaky faucets, cracked plaster and peeling paint are signs of repair bills. Buyers are more willing to pay optimum price if they don’t need to make immediate repairs.
- Excessive hot and cold temperatures are expected outside, but a comfortable temperature inside is preferred.
REMOVE IT -
- House pets should be removed or caged.
- An “overloaded” home appears smaller than it really is. Remove excess furniture to “create” more space.
- Cluttered vanities and counter tops appear smaller than they are. Stow small items (hair dryers, can openers, blenders, etc.)
- Cobwebs can give the perception of an unkempt home. Removal from corners, light fixtures and basement areas is preferred.
- All valuables and collectables should be out of sight. Realty Executives Platinum agents will take precautions, but will not be responsible for missing or damaged items.
