Karin Burkey- Childress

I am a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and after living in Canada for many years, I was excited to move back to my hometown in 2017. I started my real estate career as an independent agent in 2004 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and this is where I learned the importance of advocating for the transferee during the relocation process. As someone who has relocated to another country, I understand how challenging it can be to acclimate to a new location and the importance of having support throughout the relocation journey. My many years in real estate, property management, and as a 2^nd generation REALTOR ultimately led me to the relocation industry as a career path. I have a  vast knowledge that has prepared me to lead a busy and thriving relocation department serving many local and national corporations and relocation management companies throughout the US. My collaborative approach is a benefit to the companies who I work with and they can count on me to always have their best interest in mind.

As the VP of Corporate Services/Relocation Director, I am responsible for securing new sources of business as well as creating new and innovative ways to help grow the department. Delivering a great customer experience is especially important to me and my agent team.  As the #1 firm in the Knoxville real estate market, Realty Executives East TN has the highest of excellence of agents, and their strong market share ensures that their agents are experts in their respective markets and are in tune with the local nuances that are important to relocating families.  

Building strong relationships and creating partnerships are some of my strongest strengths that are both professionally and personally rewarding. I enjoy networking with local professionals and their counterparts in the Relocation Directors Council as well.

One of my passions is advocating for inclusion, diversity, equity, and kindness in the workplace and in my community.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and she loves exploring new places, especially new beaches with her husband.
