(Published on - 5/2/2022 6:16:03 PM)

Perhaps you’ve recently signed a rental lease or bought a home in an area you’re unfamiliar with. With the help of Realty Executives, finding the right home is a cinch! But settling in after moving can be a tough process. These resources will aid you with every aspect, from switching your address to meeting friends in your new community.

Making Important Changes

When you move, you have to deal with lots of logistical tasks that pop up! Here are a few of the most important responsibilities that you’ll need to tackle.

  • Before you arrive, you’ll need to contact your local utility providers to set up services like water and electricity in your home.
  • Changing your address with the post office should be one of the first items on your to-do list.
  • Head to the DMV to update your driver’s license with your new address.
  • Make an appointment with a new primary care physician shortly after you move in.
  • Check with your real estate agent to see if they offer moving concierge services from companies like MooveGuru or Updater. These types of systems can help you tackle many moving tasks from one platform.

Professional Networking

If you’re looking for a job in your new community, you’ll want to focus on networking in addition to sending out applications.

  • Look up networking events in your new city so that you can start connecting with other people in your field.
  • Consider enrolling in an online degree program to improve your job prospects.
  • Become a member of your local Chamber of Commerce for access to additional networking opportunities!

Having Fun

Making friends after moving can be challenging! These suggestions will make it easier.

  • Ready to make some new friends? Join an adult recreational sports league!
  • If your faith is an important part of your life, start seeking out a new church community.
  • Should you need more suggestions for social outlets in your new area, ask your real estate agent for their expert suggestions.

Moving marks a fresh start in your life, and it can be very exciting! But at the same time, it can also be very stressful. Thankfully, you can turn to these resources to take some guesswork out of the process.

6 Repairs To Make Before Selling Your Home

(Published on - 4/20/2022 4:00:07 PM)

If you've checked out our Instagram post, then it probably led you here! Here are the 6 tips to help you get your home ready before putting it on the market.

  1. Paint: It’s one of the cheapest and easiest ways to update your homeland and get it ready to list. Plus, you don’t need to be a pro. A quick Youtube video can help guide you in picking the right colors and making the first step.
  1. Exterior: Refreshing and boosting curb appeal with fresh mulch and planters with beautiful flowers is a great way to liven up the vibe of your home. Even pressure washing the driveway and sidewalks can make it more presentable.
  1. Kitchen: Scrub scrub scrub those cabinets, appliances and backsplashes! Install new hardware and light fixtures and if needed, replace the countertops. You don’t need to do a complete reno (unless your agent advises so) but sprucing up your kitchen will really make a difference.
  1. Bathroom: Keep your bathroom not only clean by F u n c t i o n a l. Repair running toilets and leaky faucets. Consider replacing dingy toilet seats and hardware, if needed.
  1. Lighting: The brighter the better. Try some breeze curtains or no curtains at all to let in as much light as possible. Great lighting can also truly represent how big and spacious the home is.
  1. Floors: Freshly refinished floors really set the first impression when walking into a home for the first time. If you can and if need to, consider refinishing your wood floors. Also, the return on investment is very high!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

(Published on - 4/20/2022 3:59:06 PM)

We hope you are having a wonderfully tummy-filled Thursday!

We started the day slowly as we prepared for our agents to start rolling in for our St. Patty’s Day Potluck at our office. One by one they strolled in bringing their contributions making our stomachs holler as the beautiful aromas coated our office. Before we ate, we sat around the table and told Alexa to play her preferred St. Patty’s day playlist to get us in the spirit and once it approached 12:00pm, we got to chompin'!

Our group of 15 gathered together to share in some shepherds pie, salad, macaroni and cheese, corn beef and cabbage and our many assortments of cupcakes. We laughed, stuffed our faces and ate enough to avoid food for the next 3 days.

We send our well wishes to everyone today and hope that you get to enjoy this day as much as we have so far.

FIVE TIPS FOR DECORATING ON A BUDGET

(Published on - 3/11/2022 10:00:25 PM)

Making your perfect Pinterest board is easy… buying everything to transfer that board into your living room, not so easy. Doing a makeover of an old space or decorating a new home is fun and refreshing but can also be stressful trying to ensure your vision comes out the way you wanted without breaking the bank. Check out these tips on how you can decorate your home just the way you want on a budget you can afford.

Plan your budget

It’s hard to stay on budget if you don’t have one! Set a maximum amount you are comfortable paying and stick to it. Make a list of “must-have” items before you start shopping and plan the look you are going for. This will not only help you stay on track style wise but also within price range. You can also look online for budget items or to see what stores have the best deals and if they have any upcoming sales.

Find furnishings to serve multiple purposes

It can be challenging to accommodate every purpose a house serves, including hosting holidays, parties or a small get-together with friends. Having enough seating, surface space and entertaining space can be a struggle, especially for smaller apartments or homes. You can fix this by filling your spaces with multi-functional pieces. Buy seating with built-in storage or tables with removable sections that can be added for more guests and then removed at the end of dinner.

Spiff up old or outdated furniture to fit your new look

Your taste and trends may change but that doesn’t mean you have to buy decor or furniture pieces new every time. A coat of paint or re-upholstering can give a new look to an old piece that can fit into your new style. Take something old and make it have a whole new function and work it into your new spaces.

Find local treasures

So many items that end up in thrift stores or antique shops can be put to good use with the right space. Old treasures can blend nicely with current pieces in your house. Finding items at local shops will also give you more unique pieces that no one else has and will bring a special personal touch to any room.

Don’t rush it

We tend to fall into the mindset that once we move into a new home, that each room needs to be put together and look flawless immediately, but that can get expensive – and fast. Take your time and pick one room at a time to focus on. You won’t get overwhelmed and won’t stretch your budget right from the start. Plus if you finish one room and like how it turned out, you will have a better idea of how you want the other spaces to turn out.

Whether it’s a new home or you are just wanting to revamp your current place, take these tips to get your dream look on your realistic budget!

2022 Race The Runways Recap!

(Published on - 3/4/2022 5:47:11 PM)

This past weekend, Realty Executives Oceanside gathered together for The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach’s 11th Anniversary Race the Runways event at the Flagler Executive Airport. Our group of 10 attended consisted of our amazing agents and staff whom we proudly refer to as family. So many of us had been looking forward to returning back to our office annual events that were pushed back over the past two years due to the pandemic and this event was a great way to solidify our energy for the rest of the year.

The Race of the Runways event is a 5k or 3 mile run or walking event accompanied by illuminated searchlights of a circling helicopter. We threw on our fun mardi gras themed L.O.V.E tshirts, multi-colored beaded necklaces, fun shoes and masks and made the best of it!  We even won the Light Up the Runway award for best costume and made a feature on the Palm Coast Observer.
