Voodoo

Powassan Voodoos Jr A Hockey

The Powassan Voodoo are a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey team based out of Powassan, Ontario. They are members of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and play their home games at the Powassan Sportsplex. The Voodoo were founded in 2014.

New Years Eve Family Celebration 

Where: Trout Creek Arena

When: Dec 31st 4pm-6:30pm

An annual family event hosted by the Municipality of Powassan. A free event that includes public skating, horse drawn sleigh rides, Bbq with hotdogs and hot chocolate and fireworks to top it off.

PMHA Keith Barton Memorial Tournaments

When: House tournament December 2nd -4th , Rep tournament Feb 3rd-5th

Second annual minor hockey tournaments honoring a wonderful member of our community who generously gave his time to the Powassan Minor Hockey Association and hockey in the area. Come out and see some great young talent. Food and prizes available on site.

When: January 13th-15th 2017

An annual minor hockey fundraiser that features family and outlaw teams from the area. A funfilled weekend with a dance on Saturday night. Come out and support your local minor hockey association.

Trout Creek Winter Carnival

Where: Trout Creek Community Centre
When: February 18th & 19th 2017

Activities:
The annual Trout Creek Carnival will take place Family Day weekend at the Community Centre. Wednesday evening the Trout Creek Lion's host a $1,000.00 jackpot bingo, Thursday features the Tiny Tot pageant, Friday sees  the beginning of the Men's and Ladies hockey tournaments running through till Sunday, Saturday the children's games, as well as the dance (19 yrs and older only) with the pancake breakfast running Sunday.

Weekend wristbands are $10.00 each, $5 for a single day, ages 12 and under are free.

Dance entry $5.00

Maple Syrup

Powassan Maple Syrup Festival

On April 22, 2017 we will again see the Main Street of Powassan transformed to an end-of-winter street festival. Activities include Pancake Breakfasts, Children's Park, Logger Sport Competitions, Craft Booths, Food Vendors, Everything Maple Syrup for Sale, Live Music, Horse Drawn Rides, Bus Trips to the Sugar Bush, and much more.

Powassan Farmers' Market

Local vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, local freezer meats, preserves, plants, soaps, sewing, crafts, jewellery and more. Enjoy BBQ sausage on a bun, hot and cold beverages, and the picnic tables under the tent. Open every Saturday, rain or shine, 9am-1pm, from mid-May to Thanksgiving. Main St. South, Powassan, beside The Beer Store. New vendors welcome. Pets must be leashed.

Where: Powassan Curling Club

When: June 21, 2017

Powassan Lions Club  holds its annual Fish Fry from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Powassan Curling Club featuring music, raffles, a bar and great fresh cooked fish. Everyone is welcome.

 

Canada Day

Canada Day 2017

July 1st activites will take place at the Powassan Lion's Park from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Kid's activities, Face Painting, Inflatables, BBQ lunch, Cake and Live Music. Special events for Canada's 150th Birthday!

Bikers Battling Cancer

Powassan will host a three-day motorcycle rally at the Powassan Agricultural Fair Grounds Canada Day long weekend. June 30th-July 2nd 2017

The rally is expected to attract between 1,500 and 3,000 bikers from across the province.The motorcycle rally will feature live entertainment, onsite events, a show and shine, contests, a Canada Day parade and the Wheels of Hope motorcycle ride.

Proceeds from the rally will support cancer care programs at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Windsong Music Festival

When: August 25th & 26th 2017

The Windsong Music Festival welcomes music fans that want a unique experience to get "up close and personal" with performers. Surrounded by hardwood forests and rolling farm field just outside of Powassan. Only 200 tickets are sold, so everyone is guaranteed a great seat with amazing sound.
