One cow and 20 acres of land was all it took for T.G. Lee and his wife to open a dairy farm east of Orlando in 1925. In the decades to follow, the Milk District, still anchored by its namesake dairy, has evolved into a diverse community made up of businesses, residents, and visitors.
East of Downtown Orlando, the Milk District became the 10th district to join the Orlando Main Streets program in October of 2016. They have built a community for artists, families, and entrepreneurs to lay down their roots. The Milk District was becoming a widely recognized cultural hub for Orlando through food, music, art, and fashion very quickly.
Mission: The Milk District’s mission is to enhance and preserve the community by nurturing arts, culture, and development into the creative district while supporting small businesses. Another important mission of the Milk District is to support a civic life for all by practicing cultural equity and putting policies into place that support that cultural equity.
