After more than two decades in corporate America, Maribel Salgado-Little, CRS, took a leap of faith that would reshape both her career and her connection to the community she serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May 2014, after 23 years with a Fortune 500 telecommunications company, Maribel Salgado-Little<\/a> made a career transition into real estate. She joined the Realty Executives Elite office in Lemont, Illinois\u2014drawing on her corporate background, she quickly built a reputation for strong client relationships and results-driven service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Maribel Salgado-Little has been recognized as a top performing REALTOR\u00ae by her brokerage and franchise, a reflection of her consistent dedication to excellence. Her commitment to growth has remained constant throughout her real estate career. In 2021, Maribel Salgado-Little earned her managing broker\u2019s license, and in 2024, she obtained her Indiana real estate license, furthering her reach by joining the sister office Realty Executives Premier. “This expansion allows me to serve clients seamlessly across state lines while remaining deeply committed to communities I represent,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advocacy and Leadership in Real Estate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Maribel Salgado-Little, real estate is a platform for impact, not just a profession. \u201cAs a REALTOR\u00ae, I have the privilege of guiding clients through one of the most significant milestones of their lives in achieving the American dream of homeownership while building long-term financial wealth,\u201d she says. That sense of responsibility also extends into advocacy, including participation in state-level Lobby Days and her recent appointment as an Illinois State Legislative Contact. In this role, she helps educate lawmakers on policies that strengthen property ownership and expand housing opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion for professionalism and collaboration led her to the Residential Real Estate Council in 2025. Introduced by Fran Bixler, CRS, Maribel Salgado-Little set an ambitious goal to earn her Certified Residential Specialist Designation quickly, with plans to be inducted at Sell-a-bration\u00ae 2026 in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince earning the designation, it has significantly elevated my business by granting access to top-tier tools, cutting-edge technology insights and advanced education,\u201d she says. She credits RRC education, including workshops, webinar bundles, and recorded sessions, with helping her better serve clients in specialized areas such as divorce, probate, luxury real estate, and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally meaningful, she says, is the culture of connections. \u201cRRC and the CRS Designation have raised my standards, expanded my vision and connected me to people who believe that collaboration beats competition every time,\u201d Maribel Salgado-Little says. \u201cThis isn\u2019t just another membership or designation\u2014it\u2019s a community and a mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philanthropy and Inclusive Community Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n

That mindset is clearly reflected in her philanthropic work, particularly her long-standing involvement with the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA). Maribel Salgado-Little began volunteering with LWSRA in 2018 after an introduction with the organization\u2019s Executive Director, Keith Wallace, and learning about its mission to support individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, she helped secure a National Association of REALTORS\u00ae Community Outreach Grant, working alongside the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS\u00ae and LWSRA leadership. The funding supported the development of Leigh Creek South Park; a fully accessible recreational space designed for individuals of all abilities.
\u201cBeing part of a project that creates inclusive, lasting community impact has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my philanthropic involvement,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maribel Salgado-Little primarily supports LWSRA through sponsorships and financial contributions to events such as galas, popcorn drives, wheelchair basketball programs, and golf outings. These efforts help sustain programs that promote inclusion, accessibility, and community connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her, the true prize is witnessing the impact firsthand. \u201cThe most rewarding moments come from seeing the genuine joy on the faces of children and adults who feel truly included,\u201d she says. \u201cKnowing they have a welcoming place where they can participate, build friendships and connect with their families and the broader community is incredibly meaningful. Watching them look forward to activities and feeling a strong sense of belonging reinforces why this work matters so deeply to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Service Shapes Business and Client Relationships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This work has shaped how Maribel Salgado-Little approaches life and business. \u201cThrough this experience, I have gained a deeper appreciation for listening, patience and inclusive problem-solving, all of which directly translate into how I serve my clients and support my community,\u201d Maribel Salgado-Little says, noting that it has also strengthened her empathy, patience and advocacy for families navigating complex situations.<\/p>\n\n\n
