3. Gambrel Roof<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A mansard roof,\nalso known as a French roof, allows you to create more living spaces like open\nor closed dormers. It looks more stylish, though, mainly because of the double\nslopes on each of its four sides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Flat Roof<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While more common\nin commercial buildings, some homeowners opt for a flat roof because of the\npossibilities when it comes to using the space up top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For one, a flat\nroof looks like a perfect place for a patio. For another, you can use the space\nfor your HVAC system\u2019s outside unit. If you want a more environmentally\nfriendly energy source, you can install solar panels there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Skillion Roof<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A skillion roof\nis essentially a flat roof placed at a sharp angle with one end leaning on a\ntaller wall. Because of the slope on this flat roof, it doesn\u2019t have a problem\nshedding rainwater and snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its simple\nbut aesthetically pleasing design, assembling a skillion roof\u2014also known as a\nshed or lean-to roof\u2014is a straightforward process. The fact that it requires\nfewer building materials than other roof types also make it cheaper to install.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skillion roofs\nlook amazing on homes with a modern style, but they\u2019re also commonly used for\nsheds, porches, and home additions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are just some of your roof type options, and great options to consider in your search for your new roof<\/a>.
