Terri Lou - Biography
I am practically a native Arizonan, having moved to Yuma from San Diego in 1963. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I worked in the local power industry for 15 years prior to changing careers to real estate. I joined Realty Executives in 1987 at the North Scottsdale Office & remain at the same location to this day.
I am a member of Realty Executives’ Premier Marketing Group (Membership Chair), 100% Club, International Corporate Relocation Team & was Office Representative for many terms. I serve on the Steering Committee of Realty Executives Scottsdale Sales Meeting Group & am acting Chair & Treasurer. I am also an active member of the Scottsdale Professional Networking Association, where I am currently the President (again) & have also been Membership & Program chairperson.
I am active in the community with Vista Del Camino (food & clothing drives), Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (Team Captain – 5 years & received the 2004 & 2006 Largest Small Corporate Team Race Awards). I am the recipient of the 2003 Rich Rector Community Service Award.
Moving into Ancala in 2004, I wanted to get involved with my new community & meet my neighbors. My husband, Doug, & I both work, which does not allow much opportunity to socialize with the neighbors. So, I became active with the Ancala Hospitality Committee: Philanthropy Chair in 2006; Co-Chair & Co-Secretary in 2007 & Chair for 2008, 2009 & 2010. I currently prepare the real estate info for Ancala Luxury Home Tour Guide, Stats for Home Times and Newcomers Report. I am also co-chair of our Wine Tasting Event, held six times a year, and chair the Family Events, which this year will be "Movie in the Park". We really enjoy our community & all the friends we have met.
In 2010, our latest project is our 600 square-foot vegetable garden, which Doug & I leased from Scottsdale Community Garden Club. We built our enclosure in September 2010 and planted in October. Being gardening newbies, we didn’t realize how cold the garden can get & lost sensitive plants with the first frost. Otherwise, those hearty winter vegetables are fantastic. Finally, organic home-grown oriental vegetables! We are now into our 5th year, planting two seasons with fall and spring crops. I serve as Garden Membebrship Chair, Garden Oversight Committee Chair and co-captain of Section One.
Our two grown sons are off living their lvies independent of us. Bryan is a Biomechanical Engineer in San Diego. Michael is a Civil Engineer in Phoenix. When everyone has time, we love to downhill ski, fish, hike, jog, exercise and enjoy the great outdoors. Oh, I practice my Tai Chi whenever possible.
The photo is at Big Lake in the White Mountains on the annual July 4th fishing trip. Of course, we caught our limit of twelve trout!

She joined Realty Executives in 1987, where she is a member of the Premier Marketing Group (Co-Chair & Membership Chair), 100% Club, International Corporate Relocation Team and Realty Executives Chair of the Scottsdale Sales Meeting Group. Terri has remained at the same North Scottsdale Office to this day and served as North Scottsdale Office Representative for many terms.
She recently earned the designation of Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist – Million Dollar Guild from the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. She is acting President of Scottsdale Professional Networking Group. Terri is heavily involved in volunteer work, being active in her Ancala HOA Hospitality Committee where she chairs many events, and leadership roles in the Scottsdale Community Garden Club, among many others.
