Robert Maple - Biography

I have spent over 40 years in the business world owning and running companies ranging in size from the very small to ones over $20 million in sales and employing over 100 employees.  Within that experience I have bought and sold some of those business, negotiated leases and purchases of industrial property and handled general business negotiations with customers and vendors ranging from the very small to big box stores with world wide penetration.  I also served on the board of directors and as president of the national trade association for my industry.  In my personal life I have been called to move many times meaning that I have been involved in buying and selling several homes over the years in various markets.  Enjoying all of these experiences is what motivated me to become a real estate agent because in that capacity all of those experiences and skills are important assets to successfully sell or buy a property for you.

I received my BA in ecoonomics from Pomona College, one of the top ten liberal arts colleges in the country.  After finishing a Vietnam era tour of duty as an officer in the US Army, as a post graduate I also pursued and received a teaching credential.  Over the next few years I explored the business world and taught school, eventually deciding on a career in business.  I have never looked back.

I am a 4th generation Californian who has recently found a home to love in Green Valley and southern Arizona. I have been married 38 years and have 2 children and 2 grandsons.  I enjoy the outdoors skiing, swimming, golfing, surfing when I can, biking and just enjoying a walk in the beautiful southern Arizona desert.  On a historical note, my great great grandfather was sheriff of Tombstone from 1883 to 1884 succeeding Sheriff Behan, famous from the shoot out at the OK Corral.  Coincidentally, my wife's great aunt's cousin was Ed Schieffly, the discoverer of the Tough Nut Mine and founder of Tombstone.  I have been involved in a number of churches wherever I have lived and served in leadership in a few of them over the years.  Currently I am also involved in some humanitarian aid endeavors surrounding the border in southern Arizona.

I love southern Arizona and I am excited to represent you in the real estate market here.
