A native of Mobile, Alabama, Howard McNorton has been visiting Gulf Shores long before there was a high rise on the Beach. He actually danced in the "Old Hangout". After moving to Gulf Shores in 2004 after Hurricane Ivan, he continued to commute to Mobile daily for his job, until retiring in 2011. But he wasn’t finished yet and decided to obtain his real estate license 2 1/2 years ago. His love for the area has easily translated in helping future property owners find their slice of paradise too. With his many years of visiting Gulf Shores, Howard knows about all the changes and developments of Coastal Alabama which he believes adds to the uniqueness and intrigue of the area.

He enjoys working with buyers or sellers in Gulf Shores and has a great amount of knowledge of West Beach. He is very familiar with values, property zoning and water rights.

With a lot of hard work and having several night jobs to pay his way through college, he’s earned 2 degrees, one in Criminal Justice and his Masters in Finance.

Howard’s hobbies include creating driftwood art, painting and working with clay when time allows. He also enjoys cooking distinctive dishes such as Cajun, Country, Seafood, and good old Pot Luck. One can’t go wrong with all the available fresh seafood in our area, he contends.

Howard’s work experience covers as many different interests as his hobbies such as owning a wholesale gasoline distributorship with 10 convenience stores and sales for the Xante' Corp, which allowed him to call on Fortune 500 corporations. One of his bragging rights is accumulating 2 Million Delta FF Miles having worked in every major city in the United States. With all of this experience he believes he has required excellent customer service, learning how to listen to client’s needs and putting service above and beyond the sale.

“I enjoy interacting with people and helping them to be happy and excited about a purchase. Helping people to find the one property that makes them feel at home, whether it’s a full time residence or a vacation get-away. It’s fulfilling when they walk in and go, aaaah, this is it, let's make a offer..”

After working 40 years in corporate America and learning what it takes to make a buyer/seller happy, Howard has translated that into making beachfront owners happy, only in shorts and flip flops.

 “The service is still important but the attire is far more relaxing. God has endowed all of us with some degree of uniqueness, and often human nature doesn't allow us to feel or think we are special. So, I feel I have been blessed with a good heart, a eye for nature's creativity and blessings, I'd rather give than receive. It brings me great joy to see others happy. Life has a rhythm and it is such a blessing when we learn to dance to it..”
