Andrea has always been fascinated with houses. Her parents brought her home at birth to a gorgeous Queen Anne Victorian that they had lovingly restored. As a child, she would spend hours at the art museum staring into the tiny Thorne Miniature Rooms. Her real estate career began when she placed a discarded real estate sign into the ribs of a downed cactus in the middle of a gully, and put her childhood fort up “for sale by owner.”
She has helped sellers in complex situations, as well as first-time and experienced buyers. Andrea assists her clients in navigating the ever-changing Southern California real estate market by keeping abreast of trends, interpreting statistics, by researching and understanding the nuances of each neighborhood in which she works. She has sold homes, condos and apartment buildings in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties.
Andrea’s background in education has had an important effect on her real estate career. “When I witnessed buyers losing out on properties they had chosen because they weren’t in touch with the pace and expectations of the market, I knew that I could help educate my buyers and sellers.” She regularly offers homebuyers’ workshops, and her attendees have gone from being unprepared to buy to becoming successful first-time and re-entry homeowners.
Active in every aspect of the arts, Andrea understands that each client intends to use the home they buy in their own unique way. Whether they need a huge garage in which to store their ‘toys’ or a pink bedroom to use as a ballet studio, she knows their perfect house is out there. She enjoys the challenge of finding the home her client has been looking for.
Her expertise in California's vintage architecture and the lifesyles of the era help her clients understand why the houses were built the way they were, and what the original purpose of each room was. She is a docent at Heritage Square Museum, and participates in preservation-oriented groups such as Whittier Historical Neighborhood Association and West Adams Neighborhood Association.
While she loves old houses, she appreciates the design and architecture of every style of home. Her experience in this area helps her to stage homes to sell, and to create unique marketing packages for her listings.
She also stays on top of the most effective ways she can use technology to help her clients achieve their goals. Equipped with the tools provided by Realty Executives International and her own graphic and marketing expertise, she is prepared to make your buying or selling experience as smooth as possible.
When not doing real estate, you might find Andrea developing a healthy recipe for her food blog, www.corazonenplatillo.com, writing poetry or fiction, or teaching children how to act on stage. She loves to take short road trips, to photograph California, to sing for an audience and to spend time with her adopted dogs and cat, and rescued horse.
