Fiona Oakley - Biography

My name is Fiona Oakley, but for years many people have also known me as “British Fiona.” I was born, raised and educated in Zimbabwe Africa of a British family.

Since my husband and I retired to Prescott Arizona my love of people and years of real estate experience has driven me to become involved with it again. As simply as I can put it… I love the real estate business.

I met and married my husband in Zimbabwe and moved to the United States and in 1979 where I became a Naturalized American Citizen. My husband and I have three adult children and since moving to the United States I has lived with my family in the Midwest and Southwest.

For the last 27 years I have been heavily involved in many aspects of the real estate business ranging from building my own commercial buildings to involvement with commercial leasing, the sale of businesses, the sale of Las Vegas liquor and gaming licenses, residential and commercial land, multi-family units and residential sales. I was also very involved with the mortgage business, being a part owner of a mortgage firm for 5 years.

For almost twenty years, I was the Corporate Broker of Record of one of the top twenty real estate companies in size in Las Vegas, Nevada. My company closed over 18,000 properties during my involvement with the company.

I served for two years on the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® as a MLS Committee Director when the membership of the Association was in excess of 18,000 REALTORS®. I was also a Charter Member of the Las Vegas Association’s initiation of the Voluntary Affirmative Marketing Program.

My company was chosen from 605 real estate brokerage firms to represent the first privatization of the sale of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) federally owned properties in Las Vegas. My team of agents listed 411 homes in less than 30 days, selling and closing 386 of them in the following 120 days. Our success led HUD to send their Property Disposition Director to Las Vegas to study the methods by which we accomplished this task.

But of all the different aspects of the real estate business I have been involved with, the part I like most is the personal enjoyment of dealing with people regarding residential property… your home.  I am literarily thrilled when fulfilling the needs of those looking to sell their home or finding the perfect home for people new to the Prescott Arizona Quad City area.

I was licensed as a broker for 21 years. I believe in dealing with my clients with professionalism, prompt communication response, knowledge and respect and in the same honest and up front manner that I want to be treated.
