I talk about it week in and week out, it is one of the areas in San Diego where you are still getting a bang for your buck on a home. A great location in San Diego County, a short  5-15 minute drive to everything, Downtown San Diego, the beaches, Coronado, the Border, it is close to all. I am a Logan Heights native and I will live and breathe in this neighborhood for a long time to come. I, myself, plan to invest in this neighboorhood when I am in a position to. But, for now, I present to you what is currently on the real estate market in this beautiful neighborhood and the surrounding areas, priced from highest to lowest.

52 weeks of science! is coming to an end, BUT, none the less what the Fleet Science Center brought to our neighborhood won't be forgotten. As I've said time and time again guys, Logan Heights is definitely an up and coming market, repeatedly you see different businesses starting up or investing in our neighborhood and this post is another example of just that. The Fleet Science Center partnered with different organizations and business throughout our neighborhood to bring us 52 weeks of science. "We are excited to partner with the Barrio Logan College Institute, the Logan Heights Branch Library and many local businesses to continue to bring you 52 Weeks of Science! We are hard at work developing a program that is by and for the community" ( As this program comes to an end in our neighborhood I hope that other programs similar will follow and we continue to see investment and support as this program brought.

If you haven't driven through Logan Heights and Barrio Logan you will definitely see some changes. From new construction, restaurants, art galleries & breweries, it seems more and more businesses are flocking to our neighborhood to invest. Not only are these businesses flocking but we are starting to see revamps in the city's incentivizing programs for small business which is nothing but great news. As an article from the San Diego Union-Tribune posted a week ago, we are finally starting to see changes which will increase the likelihood of current business to expand either the workforce which creates jobs or expand the facility itself which will create jobs. "Incentives can include fee waivers or reductions, low-interest loans from the city or technical support from city employees on getting approval for an expansion orother kind of project" ( We are finally getting the attention we deserve as countless businesses flock to us to create restaurants/art galleries/homes/breweries we are in the eye of the city. "We want to make sure we're responsibly investing in all communities and empowering everyone to have an equal opportunity to thrive in San Diego's future economy," Ward Said."( This incentive program will hopefully intice local businesses to expand in one way or another which is great for the community of Logan Heights as a whole.

A new mural is emerging in our infamous Chicano Park, the artist is going to be Alicia M. Siu. With collaboration with multiple groups like the Chicano Park Steering Committee, the Environmental Health Coalition and the local neighborhood. "the mural symbolizes the history of the Kumeyaay (Native Californians indigenous to San Diego County, Imperial County, and Baja California) and an environmental solution for a sustainable future. The mural’s title — “Haawka: May the Fire in Your Heart Burn Bright” — is a traditional Kumeyaay greeting" ( Along with what Chicano Park symbolizes in our history within our community our city as a whole has a history which is expressed with this mural. What the mural stands for is even more influential, "The mural’s importance is twofold: It celebrates the Barrio Logan neighborhood’s rich history while also promoting a message of unity and resilience"(
