July 4th will never quite be the same.
Two years ago, I sold my brother and his wife a lot to build their dream retirement home on. They were not ready to build yet. They had always built a new home by selling the former home to buy the new one. They did not want to do it any differently this time. My brother was retired and they decided that my sister-in-law would continue to work for maximum retirement. Two years later, she retired and they put their house on the market. It sold within a few months, so I got them a rental home here and they signed the contract with a local builder. On July 4th, my brother suddenly passed away, seven months before the new house was completed. They were looking forward to living close to both of their children's families and enjoying their retirement together.
This is not a unique story. I have worked with many couples who wanted to move here, but things were not right for them yet. Some never made it due to medical issues or the death of one of the spouses. Some of those who finally made it here, becaue their plans finally worked out, had their lives changed after very few years when a spouse died. The surviving spouse ususally moves back home to be near the grandchildren and comes back later to sell the house.
Don't wait to move. The right time may never come. Get the Bridge Loan. If you have the money without having to sell, use it. If you can get a loan, get it. If you are still working, find a job here. Get to paradise while you can enjoy being here!
