There is no question that the Monsoon season is a wonderful time in Tucson. The Catalinas become lush and green, the desert smells fresh and vibrant, and the evenings are cooled by the bursts of heavy late afternoon rain storms. It's a good idea to stay off the roads if you can during these often overwhelming downpours and let mother nature do her work regenerating the Sonoran desert.
Often these rainstorms are accompanied by dramatic and spectacular Thunder and Lightning shows that rattle windows, electrify the night sky, and always make for 'Must See' viewing with an adult beverage from a protected patio or picture window.
We must consider ourselves lucky to live in such a wonderful city like Tucson where Nature both fulfills the needs of our environment and entertains us, all at the same time.
