Our team walked for Pulmonary Fibrosis on October 12 at the National Harbor... and what a day it was!! Team Irene raised over $7,000 for this wonderful cause - 143% of our $5,000 goal. And, we came in third place for overall fundraising for the event, which brought in over $128,000 for the cause! Thank you to everyone who walked, donated and raised awareness!

at our Second Annual Family Fun Night
at the Ballpark to benefit the Marty Lyons Foundation! 

Our Second Annual Family Fun Night at the Ballpark in support of the Marty Lyons Foundation (MLF) took place Saturday, July 20, 2019 when the Bowie Baysox beat the Altoona Curve with a 10th inning walk-off! The evening was a hit all around with 160 guests in attendance, silent auction, raffles, all-you-could-eat buffet, first pitch appearances by Marty and Matthew (the winner of our first-pitch raffle), on-field competitions and a truly inspiring speech by Marty.

The Marty Lyons Foundation was established in 1982 to fulfill the special wishes of children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The philosophy behind MLF’s mission is that by promoting hope and inspiration in sick children, they will find the courage and the strength to fight their illnesses. In 37 years, the Marty Lyons Foundation has granted over 7,600 wishes through its wish programs, with $5,000 being the average cost of one wish.

Thanks to our sponsors, local businesses, individuals and families who participated in this event we were able to send a $10,000 check to MLF this year – enough to provide two wishes for the children and their families!
