Fred Laraway - Biography

Fred was born and raised in Michigan. He met his wife, Ellen, in 1974 in Germany, while working at a resort in Southern Bavaria.

In 1975, he joined the US Army and served his training in Ft Jackson S.C., then was sent to Germany to serve from 1975-1978.

He married Ellen in 1977 in The Netherlands, where Ellen was born. Fred and Ellen have two children and 2 grandchildren.

In Michigan, Fred owned a successful home improvement company, which helped him understand costs and planning for doing upgrades and repairs of homes. At the same time he served in the active Army Reserve.

The family moved to Arizona, after Fred changed careers and became a Financial Planner, which gained him experience in finance and insurance.

Fred and Ellen have lived in the East Valley of Phoenix, in Mesa since 1984 and love it here.

In 1989, Fred made another career change and joined Dimension Cable (Later named Cox Communications) in Sales and Marketing.

After Ellen had started in Real Estate with Century 21 in 1996, Fred got his Real Estate license shortly after to help Ellen, then started working at Realty Executives in 2002 with Doug Hopkins.

In 2004, Fred and Ellen joined Red Brick Realty and started Team Laraway. We specialize in assisting people buy and sell homes, both family and seasonal. Also, we assist investors in finding properties for rentals or Fix and Flips. In addition, Team Laraway has extensive experience in HUD homes, Short sales and bank owned properties. We are members in good standing with NAR, AAR, SEVRAR and ARMLS, our local MLS affiliate. We have a solid network of contractors to help with any type of home repair or just spruce up job.

In 2017 We joined up with Realty Executives again and can use the vast resourses that comes with an international company. Also in 2017 I recieved my Certified Military Relocator designation (CMR) to help military families and veterans relocate to and from Arizona.

On a personal note, Ellen and I had become members of Boyce Thompson Arboretum and enjoy walks there, while viewing plants and animals in a amazing natural setting. Further, we enjoy hiking, biking, snowskiing and spending time with family and friends.

Our goal is to connect with clients and make them feel at ease and treated with respect, so that we can work together as a team. We provide customized service to fit each individual client's needs and build rapport that often grows into a lasting relationship.
